Disorder on the court

Warning: Spoilers
"Advantage" or "Advantage Devil" is an Australian live action short film that runs for 11 minutes. This was released back in 2007, so it has its 10th anniversary this year. It was director Sean Byrne's final short film work before directing the actually somewhat well-known "The Loved Ones" 2 years later. But back to this one here: A drunk and horny couple enter an empty tennis court at night and they start getting dirty on the umpire's chair quickly. But they are not alone as we find out quickly. I think the setting and atmosphere make for a pretty creepy watch, but the jump scares near the end and the entire epilogue were sadly not working at all. The script here clearly is a negative deal breaker in my opinion. It shows that writer Rob Beamish may have lacked the necessary experience and talent to make this one work, which is especially a shame because the director and actors were doing a pretty decent job. But in the end it felt pretty forgettable overall and that disappointed me because I am really a big tennis film and would have appreciated a convincing tennis horror film more than anybody else. This is not it though. Thumbs down and I do not recommend checking it out. Oh yeah if you still decide to and don't speak English no worries. Dialog is minimal and you won't need subtitles to understand the plot.
