ICW: WIP but already a masterpiece
2 June 2017
2nd rough cut: i just watched the second edit of Albert Pyun 's Interstellar Civil War with Brad Thornton on a music by Tony Riparetti and pohtography by Michael Su...it's weird to seehow little modifications are changing a movie...we are now experiencing a (high) trip in the mmind of the director, as a puzzle 80% finished but with remaining beautiful pieces laying on the ground but we can guess the very own universe Albert is creating since 50 movies. Most of the changes are concerning the opening of the movie, which offered in a first time an opening with panels like in Star wars and a speech like in David Lynch's Dune, OK it was a bit long to start mais it was stronger than this new short excerpt, the timing of the events/actions is also changed...Brad is appearing on screen after half an hour but his charismma, his shapes, his sight and his talent are charming the camera and the audience and are well captionned by Michael Su.As usual Albert has worked with a great team, with lot of people he's used to work with as Tony leading the music, and his song When the world goes down is a real masterpiece, the female cast is large and powerful with all those talented actresses, and who else than Cynthia Curnan would have produced ICW. Albert is offering to us fans and friends the opportunity to watch, judge, comment his work, his vision before everybody, that's a real honour for us, and real trust from him. ICW is still a rough jewel, but an enjoyable gift. Even it's a syfy movie, a space opera, it appears to be the most pesonnal one in his filmography, maybe his health has had a big impact on the cut, the edit, the colors grading the pace...surely it's not his requiem his last effort --the Bad Ass 12/Abaddon is already in preproduction-- but Albert will not give up, as if he wants to offer the ultimate movie ...good job Albert...

first rough cut: i had the chance to watch the WIP of the movie, and i can say it gonna be a masterpiece, knowing Albert's talent. you can find references and influences from other movies, sci-fi or not, such as Dune, Star Wars...it's like watching a Qunetin Tarantino's movie and asking yourself where did i see something similar...As usual Tony Riparetti has done a great work for/with Albert on the soundtrack...eager to see the final result
