Logan's dead end
19 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The good guys get a reprieve, at last; Jack's escaped from the grounded plane, the recording's finally safe at CTU (ready to be played for the attorney general, no less), Bierko's in irons, and Logan has no cards left to play. It's almost a victory lap for Jack and Audrey, safe and reunited. And hey, Secretary Heller survived the car accident! It's good vibes almost all around.

Except for President Logan, seen with a bottle of bourbon and a loaded gun. Itzin plays the disbelief to the hilt, as Logan makes a few last-minute phone calls to get his affairs in order and offering an apology to Martha. The guy's ready to pull the trigger, but this is "24", and the fat lady hasn't sung yet. Wouldn't you know some two-timing weasel (Stephen Spinella, an ass-kisser from the beginning) is going to intervene and give Logan an out. A terrific ending to a simmering episode.
