The main segment of the show was good in that President Kirkman is getting used to outwitting Sen. Bowman, who is becoming a major play, thorn and the political anti-hero. Angry at his surprise defeat of the gun legislation, Bowman tries to thwart Kirkman's 9th choice to fill the Supreme Court. His aide who helped him in this deserves much credit for the outmaneuvering but then she reveals a terrible secret to the President regarding her health.
