Murray is depressed. A college friend has just won the Pulitzer Prize. Murray begins to look over his life and sees it as a failure. The episode involves efforts to get him straightened out. Let's face it. He is a dull man. When Lou expands his responsibilities, he doesn't excel. Mary and Lou try to council him and give him suggestions, but to no avail. Even Ted (who is writing his autobiography) tries his hand. There is a funny scene at the end when we get to see Ted's apartment in a swinging singles building. It's a very average episode with little new territory. One problem with Murray being depressed is that he lays off the wisecracks relating to Ted.
