One for established Jimmy Wang Yu fans

Warning: Spoilers
Another cheap and cheerful Taiwanese-lensed kung fu flick starring the one and only Jimmy Wang Yu, who also had a hand in the direction. This one's entirely ordinary, offering an episodic plot that focuses on a bunch of guys fighting in a wide open field, perhaps to bring back some of the greatness of Wang Yu's earlier BEACH OF THE WAR GODS. Fans of the martial arts star will be little surprised to hear that he plays yet another one-armed fighter in this film, forced to chop off his limb when it becomes poisoned.

The main thrust of the tale is a mystery of sorts as Wang Yu becomes a wronged man and finds to clear his name by finding the true villain responsible. Wang Yu is as entertaining as ever, and given good support by Beardy, also the latter actor is given little to do other than standing around in the background looking tough. The film has a generally low budget feel to it and the martial arts choreography is hardly of the finest standard, so this is likely a film for established Wang Yu fans rather than those new to the fold.
