Popular 1957 Science Fiction Film Watched By Comedians
9 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
A scientist (Whit Bissell) turns a kid (Michael Landon) into a man beast and a cop (Guy Williams) attempts to track down the creature.

By today's standards, this film has a few really, really terrible moments, like when the kids break out into song, so such scenes make perfect comedy material for the Mystery Theatre guys.

However, unlike many of the other flicks this group makes fun of, there is just not as much stuff to joke around with here.

Basically, I Was A Teenage Werewolf is not a bad movie, so the jokes mainly centre on things like 1950s values and Bonanza.

However, who could forget the later hysterical scene where the old people hunt down the werewolf and we hear "Great Caesar's Ghost" (a line from 1950s Adventures Of Superman) from one of the comics.

Basically, if you wish to see I Was A Teenage Werewolf I would consider watching it the regular way first, then see it again with the Mystery Theatre guys doing the jokes.

Finally, as a fan of Whit Bissell in The Time Tunnel series (1966), it was fun to hear Bissell come out with the line "we are going backwards in time"...the sort of thing he would later say in Time Tunnel.
