Tapping a Furnace (1904)

During the early 1900's Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company made a number of industrial films that allowed the public to see what went on inside their buildings. Needless to say, these films didn't contain any sort of plot but some might find them interesting.

Once again we've got a film that could have been entertaining if only it didn't run so long. Yes, this film is just five minutes but after the first minute or so we see nothing new so we basically get bored and by the time the five minutes are up you'll be wanting to hit the stop button. The most fascinating aspect are the first two minutes where we see a large bucket being lowered into the ground and then metal being poured into it. After this we basically just see the same thing happening and the film loses its entertainment value.
