Review of Bourek

Bourek (2015)
10/10
Beautiful film
19 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
A Greek woman fighting for the house of her family,, a British Dj who lost his memory (Brexit?), an American who constantly counts his money, two hilarious Serbians lost in a better time, Japanese and German conceptual artists living a parallel reality, a Lybian refugee, who used to be an Englisg teacher, speaking in Yeats quotes, and a Turkish baker turned Hashish dealer, who brings them all together through Bourek. If you are not familiar with history or current political themes you may miss some of the metaphors this beautiful film presents ( in a light-hearted and optimistic manner also!) but even so you should enjoy its humour, amazing setting, colorful characters and simple but very humanistic message of what brings us all together.
