This is one of the best MST3K episodes, if only because they are simply shocked to see how awful this movie is. The best part is probably at the end, where they simply say how the people working on the movie just didn't care. It's just such an appropriate phrase for awful movies or any other awful work. They didn't specifically mention how there were two "The"'s in the title, but it doesn't matter. It's great to see Tom Servo bonding with the other characters too, in rather awkward ways. This really sets up what the show is well known for.
I love the riffing if only because they managed to predict rickrolling before it happened. Well, all they really did was say it, but that certainly has more relevance now than it did then. There were so many funny moments. The one that really got me was, "I saw it!" followed by, "With my own hair!". It's great to see the show take on something that was intentionally trying to be funny in some occasions. It's a pity Rifftrax refuses to riff on comedies. I think there's some potential! I also loved, "You have to help us!" followed by, "I can't, I'm just a bit part". Another great one was, "We're being attacked by creamy nougat centers!". It's actually weird, because I don't even know WHY I have at least some of these jokes, even the corny ones. I just love this show that much. ****
