Bin ich sexy? (2004)
4/10
A pretty forgettable and unsexy movie

Warning: Spoilers
"Bin ich sexy?" is already a title as baity and uninspired as it gets, so I did not expect a lot from this film. And this is also how things turned out in this 90-minute movie by Kathrin Feistl and Sabine Brodersen. It was a pretty disappointing watch for the most part. There is not one main reason for that. It is a mix of several factors, such as the script being really uninspired and the (child) acting not being any better. Of course, it is perfectly fine if a film goes for random happenings during everyday life and does not try to include great action explosions, but then such a film needs to deliver in terms of character developments and this one here does not go beyond the very basic surface at all. It is not a complete failure during its slightly under 90 minutes. Here and there, we have an okay scene, but it is far from enough for a full feature film.

One major problem is that the story here is so generic and nothing special. We have an obese girl who dreams of becoming a model, but of course there are major obstacles (including love) that have an impact on her self-conscience. And this is all there is really. Occasionally we find out about the girl's mother who struggles with the dead of one of her men and there are more children (from other men) who add absolutely nothing to the story at all. They are just there. If there is any good thing about the film, then this may be the dialogues who were not as bad as most of the rest. Of course, this is also not enough. Far from it, actually. I give this film a thumbs down and do not recommend the watch.
