A Nice Social Drama with Brilliant Performances......
11 April 2016
"Mera Ghar Mere Bachche" chronicles the story of a lady who fights against the atrocities of a cruel husband and fends for her children. That's what the title stands for and presents a story that is able to relate its audiences with the central characters. Well, the film appears to be impressive in instances rather than a whole. Certain there are sequences which appear a bit sub standard; but at certain sequences, the film just shines and seem to fulfill the objective of the story. The strong bonding the audiences make with the protagonist of the film sets the film supreme from the regular social dramas churned in the 80s. At least there are three performances, for which you feel like clapping. Smita Patil, as usual, has given a performance that's well ahead of her age. Raj Babbar as a cruel husband looks astonishing; but it's Sushma Seth who steals the show and just enlivens the screen. Overall, the film serves a familiar territory of social drama but the performances and the plot sets its aside from the regular movies.
