I found this film to be a good mixture of old Native traditional ways with scientific views. The scientific explanations went hand in hand with the traditional views. From what I saw, Gary Farmer's explanation of how science interweaves with the old Native teachings from his point of view. I couldn't understand what he meant exactly since I don't know anything about science or how the world of science can interweave with the importance of traditional Native teachings. However, for the sake of this particular film, I saw how well both realms were quite relevant with one another. Of course, the sad aspect about this film was the fact that the main character lost her husband (Adam Beach). That led the widow to go on her trek with her male friend. She needed answers as to WHY her husband died. She felt that there was something more to his death than just the physical passing, like there some kind of spiritual explanation along with the scientific counterpart.
