So in this episode we've returned to the infamous cabin in which the events of Evil Dean 1 & 2 took place. Whilst nostalgia is definitely present, the show-makers thankfully decide to leave it in the back seat and do not let it get in the way of the story.
I would be nice to have seen Ash alone in the cabin for a while longer than he was (I guess that is due to the show's runtime) before he is joined by Amanda. The two then (for Hollywood reasons) decide to split up and Ash is temporarily reunited with his ex-dead ex-deadite ex-girlfriend's head in the shed. Meanwhile Amanda has to deal with Ash's evil twin (!) who had somehow managed to grow from Ash's severed hand. Evil Ash, being evil, eventually kills Amanda after toying with her (by having her impaled with a prop deer's antlers. That was a pretty shocking moment. Wasn't expecting that. And neither was Ash upon arriving back at the cabin the two share a heartfelt moment, a rarity for this show, before she snuffs it. Damn. I wasn't the biggest fan of her but it seemed her character was finally getting somewhere and then splat, which is clearly going to be heavy on Ash's back as he knew there was a high chance of his loved ones being killed. Shame. We never got to see her mamaries, either.
Overall this was one of the better episodes. The atmosphere was excellent and it was far closer in terms of quality to the first two episodes than any of the rest of the series.
