This movie is among the best, a benchmark, truly ahead of its time. The final message ? One of the coming to light, a battle against darkness, against the foulness that always comes back to test us. One can appreciate also that this movie was shot in 35mm, taking advantage of this medium to render thrilling and mysterious light atmospheres. The camera moves are taking us into moments of hectic action, as well as contemplative tableau, with an overall good rhythm. Concerning the scenario, based on a true story that took place in the 1980's, it has the advantage to dig into contemporary issues of psychology and spirituality, expressing the crisis of value that humanity is struggling with.
