Jessica Jones: A.K.A. The Sandwich Saved Me (2015)
Season 1, Episode 5

Kilgrave: scariest villain of the year.

It's interesting how as it gets darker, it also gets lighter; the episode once again had more humour. At the start of the show, what little humour there was was very dry. Suddenly, the show is becoming funnier while still getting darker. The flashbacks in this episode are a prime example; showing a happier funnier Jessica but also showing how Kilgrave first ensnared her.

Speaking of which, David Tennant had more screen time this episode than ever before, and yet I'm still wanting more. He talks in his more normal voice here, making it even creepier. It just works so well for the character. The fact that he was so charming as the Tenth Doctor only adds to it, because it makes me believe that people would do what he says. We get to see him using his powers quite a bit here. So many shows introduce something like that which could be used in so many cool ways and just never carry out their potential. That's why it's immensely satisfying to see it being used in clever ways.

Over all, a tense episode with a great action scene in the middle and a scary final scene.
