Sonic (2013)

Okay, nothing more

Warning: Spoilers
I would say that for a rookie filmmaker, this film would have been a decent effort, but looking at how long writer and director Eddie Lebron makes films already and how prolific he has been, it is a bit disappointing, even if he is still a couple years away from his 30th birthday. I cannot even say that this is a good watch for those who love the Sonic video games as the inclusion of him here is fairly random in my opinion. He appears in a couple scenes, but he does not really make a significant impact, even if the mix of live action and animation isn't bad. It also feels random how, near the end, they included a couple shots that look like a mix of real world and sonic video game. And the camera shot from behind on the red fox was interesting, but is also nothing but bait. The only somewhat funny thing was the recurring "Dark Knight" reference, even if with that one I wasn't sure if it was just a spoof or the film was actually taking itself that serious. I have to say neither the acting, nor Jaleel White's (Steve Urkel) voice acting were memorable for whatever reason and the story certainly wasn't either. Not recommended.
