terrible start, gets a bit better after about 20 mins

Warning: Spoilers
I started the movie rather confident, since it included Patrick Stewart. And while it wasn't a complete disappointment, I can say without a doubt that it's the worst movie featuring him. But let's get things from the start.

The main character is a rebellious teenager, who (regardless of being bullied) picks up verbal fights with everyone he meets. His father, his grandfather... That kid is just annoying. He's clumsy and loses the car keys at the only place where he can't get them out from and his forgetfulness prevents him from deactivating the security system and saving his father. So what to do? Blame the bank and everyone in it, especially the bank director.

Fortunatelly he meets some of his relatives at a retirement home, where his mother wants to leave her son while having fun with the bank director (shortly after her husband died). The elderly people there are weird enough and sometimes lewd. He convinces them to rob the bank to avenge his fathers death and also solve their individual money problems.

The whole story is nothing special, nor is the acting. Despite some efforts the characters remain surprisingly shallow. And while it is true that there were some entertaining moments here and there, in the end all you have is a barely average movie with quite a few weak spots.

So by all means, I can't share the enthusiasm of the others about "Hunting Elephants", nor would I recommend this title for watching. Other movies are more worth the time.
