My wife hates this show...
23 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
She claims that it is targeted entirely at male viewers, and represents a fantasy view of reality where male bonding takes place against a backdrop of gorgeous women who never have a single hair out of place.

Is that a bad thing? If nothing else, her viewpoint may explain why this fantastic show has such a poor track record at the award ceremonies.

This episode is a bell-ringer. It is not free-standing, you have to be a fan, you have to have seen the previous episodes to know what is happening.

But if you are a fan and you have seen those episodes, you will be glued to the screen. This episode goes in directions other episodes have never gone. Most of the other "conflicts" were rhetorical -- which is fine for a lawyers's show -- but this episode is very personal. It goes for the jugular.

Arguably the best episode to that point in time.

Reviwers are supposed to point out faults. OK, I will do my job.

The "broken telephone" booty call at the close was -- astonishingly -- gratuitous. The episode was so strong on its own that it could have closed 2 minutes earlier without bringing Mike's romances into it.

Those last 2 minutes are the only sour note in what otherwise was a "perfect" script.

I loved it.

My wife on the other hand was watching something with British accents.
