King Kong (1933)
7/10
The original and the best

Warning: Spoilers
It took me way too long to finally watch the original having seen both the other versions. And even though the 1976 version is generally the lowest rated version which I haven't seen in ages, I can still remember some scenes pretty well. This in comparison to the 2005 version which I didn't see that long ago and hardly remember much of it. Even though I didn't think there was much chemistry (for lack of a better word) between beauty Faye Wray and monster ape Kong, I think this movie is really good in all other aspects. Granted it takes a while before the movie gets going. But once the film crew gets on the island things really get interesting. We get treated to some old fashion monster and stop motion monsters. Next to Kong there is plenty of other creatures which are often a bigger threat to the human visitors of the island. OK that the fights Kong has with the other creatures take sometimes a bit too long than necessary is only a minor complaint. I was surprised how explicit the horror was a times with Kong trampling or putting people between his teeth. Stood the test of time really well I must say.
