Delightfully Awful!

Warning: Spoilers
The Apocalypse series of movies (i.e., Apocalypse, Revelation, Tribulation and Judgement) is terrible...beautifully, addictively, amusingly terrible! I watched all four in one day and loved every minute. The acting is poor, some accents are glaringly out of place for the characters (e.g., EU President and all Israelis), portrayals of news organizations and military operations are laughably inaccurate (BA in Broadcast Journalism and American veteran speaking), conventional evangelical language and songs are portrayed in presumably new converts who accept Christianity after the rapture, and covert, pirate rebroadcasts of Jack and Rexella Van Impe's sermons are credited with converting heathens during the End Times. As a former, long- time evangelical Christian, I can say with confidence that evangelical Christians will applaud the message and feel sure that it will result in bringing new sheep into the fold (Their words, not mine). As a sheep who has happily left the pasture, however, I can assure them that these movies do not contain elements that would sway a non-believer's convictions. The greatest shortfall in the series can be summed up in one sentence, "Atheists are not looking for a messiah and wouldn't use the terminology of evangelicalism to refer to a political leader." I encourage everyone of every religious and political persuasion to map out time to watch these films. Two outcomes are possible: 1. You will find the story lines compelling or 2. You will enjoy the diversion of an enthusiastically badly made production. I'm distraught that I don't know anyone else who has watched these movies, because I'm dying to discuss them.
