Criminal Minds: Out of the Light (2011)
Season 6, Episode 22

End scene was not well researched

Warning: Spoilers
The story was well written, but more attention should have been paid to the details. If the episode centers around a photography teacher, then someone should have researched the photograph development process - especially given the fact that they were going to use the process in filming. The last scene includes a darkroom in which someone is developing a photograph. The photograph is shown developing in a tray, and then it is removed from the tray and hung up to dry. This is completely wrong. The photo should have been placed into a stop bath next, or the photo would have continued to darken and be ruined. I really enjoyed the story, and not being familiar with the N.C. landscape, those mishaps didn't bother me. I am used to fictitious names being used for places and businesses/schools in an area, as well. My admiration for the episode was totally lost, however, when this particular scene played out. It's such a small thing to research, and it wasn't even worth it to someone working on this script.
