Main hoon Shahid Afridi is a typical commercial flick that generates numbers on the box office, but fails to please a serious cinema lover. At various points in time, this entertainer mocks the intelligence of the viewer with its over the top patriotic and religious dialogues, Bollywood masala type action, and a forceful addition of glamor and romance. unfortunately the humor also falls short in both delivery and content. nonetheless this movie is a huge improvement over the past "gandasa culture" movies, considering there is actually a story in the movie, and actors talk rather than shout. as it is the first ever sports movie to come out of Pakistan, one also has to appreciate the choice of subject. some better execution and technical finesse could have made it more digestible.
