I respectfully have to disagree with the first person's post on POI. The thing about POI is that from the beginning, the show had to involve. Much like the nuclear arms race, once one person or entity builds something so powerful, people are going to try and copy it. That being said, Finch and Reese were always bound to meet new people as they confront more and more complex issues. And you're right, the people do change. Finch always wanted to be distanced from his machine, as he mentions time and again. Reese obviously follows Finch, and it makes sense that he starts fading into the shadows as well. All of this just reflects the true nature of who they are.

With respect to the evil argument, I believe that this is EXACTLY the way it should be. In real life people rarely always win. And sure, you might argue that this is a TV show, but when Snowden came out and busted the lines to pretty much exactly prove what this show said from the beginning, you better believe that this show is going to get real.

With respect to your final concern, the fact that this show is going off the tracks, it's bound to happen. The writers of this show have to cater to millions of viewers, they can not simply please all of us at once. They, in the words of Finch, "do the best that they can do". I for one am extremely excited to see where this show is going to go, because you can bet it'll be one hell of a ride.
