Warning: Spoilers
My review of this series was harsh and I stand by it. The award-winning production team made the same mistake everyone makes when they take on Supe, they over-weighted the Lex factor, and, with the sole exception of the way "Young Lex" was handled in the TV series Smallville (brilliant riff on an old baddie) Lex is simply not that entertaining. In fact, the "snore factor" of Lex does more damage to Superman as a franchise than Kryptonite could ever do. This episode is a standout and near-flawless. The irony of having Superman pretend to be Batman in Gotham is (of course, inside joke!) that the production was handled by the very same team that basically nailed the Batman TAS formula to a degree that is unlikely to be matched in the foreseeable future, if ever. Remember the saying, "you can't go home again." Well, with this episode, Dini and crew went home. Beyond clever. Absolutely wonderful.
