Dedh Ishqiya (2014)
7/10
Decent entertainment
15 January 2014
When Ishqiya came in 2010, who would have thought characters like Babban and Khallujaan will be instantly loved. Come 2014, Dedh Ishqiya follows these 2 delightful person but is limited to just being an entertainment.

After betraying Babban in one of the jewelry store robbery, Khallujaan goes to Mahmudabad to get hitched to the widower Begum Para aided by Muniya in a swamvyar. Soon, Babban finds him in Mahmudabad but both of them must fight off the local gangster Jaan Mohammad to get the money and girls

After delivering outstanding film like ISHQIYA, I was expecting more from the sequel but was slightly disappointed with enthralling twist and saucy comedy that made ISHQIYA super-liked. Nevertheless, Dedh Ishqiya comes with fresh story and outstanding performances by the entire star cast. Kudos to Abhishek Chaubey for keeping audiences on their toes with what-will-happen-next drama. Screenplay is grasping. Art direction is good along with beautiful cinematography of historical palace in Mahmudabad. in acting department, Vijay Raaz and Arshad Warsi steals the show. Both of them are equally competent along with fresh face of Huma Qureshi. Veterans like Nasseruddin Shah and Madhuri Dixit are dependable.

Overall, I liked Dedh Ishqiya but I could not fall in love unlike the first part. Good 3/5
