@JustCuriosity ...and were you in a war?
18 November 2013
I speculate that JustCuriosity has no basis in claiming, "In war, the soldiers in identical uniforms can easily lose their humanity and their individuality." That perspective is typical sentiment of people who have no experience in the military or who are self-absorbed and couldn't bare having to be a component of a common goal. Unless you have commanded a team of military personnel, I think you can keep your imagination silent. Military personnel have a job to do, just like anyone else who works. The defining difference is the Uniform Code of Military Justice. There is no more loss of individualism in the military than the employee of a corporation who sits in a cubicle for many many years. My basis for claiming this is that I have done both.

This movie follows a few people's lives. It just so happens that they served in a war. They were all given the same initial training and opportunities when they joined the military. The movie follows their choices and the results of their choices. It's not bad...a bit edited and contrived.
