Satisfying Conclusion
24 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The Tyranny of King Washington, it involves Conner and George Washington being thrust into an alternate really after having touched the apple of eden.

The gameplay: I love how this DLC feels different from the main game, the addition of spirit powers brings an interesting mechanic, however the majority of the time the powers felt useless, especially the bear power, I did though find myself using Wolf Cloak to get out of a few sticky situations. The combat feels the same, fluid and lovely, I just love how you can kill one enemy after another without so much as a blink. Also another boring feature; the side-missions, they were pretty much the same in every episode and got quite boring after a while, if I wasn't going for 100% I definitely would have avoided them.

Sound: The music here feels much more powerful than what it does in the main game, it is a lot more orchestral and feels like really good battle music, it really suits the scene. The voice acting however is patchy at best, the standout for me would be Robin Atkin Downes who powerfully produces his lines and makes you believe that Washington has truly gone mad; Noah Watts, I know some people may not like the way he portrays Connor but, I do, he makes Connor sound as if he doesn't fully embrace the English language, especially through not using contractions.

The Story: I love how it gives us a different take on history and it's commentary on how power can corrupt anyone, Connor towards the end even started to want the apple. I did however find the story pretty weak, especially in episodes one and two, it was rectified completely in three, it was heart pounding, I wanted to know what happens towards the end, I was quite surprised when I was suddenly plunged into the real reality, it was good to see Connor post-game, it seems he and Washington are on speaking terms again, and I felt it was a satisfying conclusion for his story.

Overall I give this an 8 out of 10.
