Even better than the Charles Chaplin home movies . . .

Warning: Spoilers
. . . which appear on the "deluxe" Chaplin DVD releases with NO sound and no guide to the viewer as to who is who (which is particularly confusing in Chaplin's case, since most his wives and lovers were young enough to be daughters or granddaughters, so mixing all these women together can get quite problematic). In this 11 minute plus short, you not only have archival footage of Alfred Hitchcock's wife, Alma Reville, but his only child, daughter Pat Hitchcock O'Connell (who appeared in three of his films, as well) and his three granddaughters, Mary Stone, Tere Carrubba, and Katie Fiala. Sure, there are six surnames attached to a half dozen people, but at least you know in THE HITCHCOCKS ON HITCH who was a spouse and who was a descendant. You see the clan's American retreat in Santa Cruz, CA, as well as the patriarch's Tudor mansion in Bel Aire, near Hollywood. In light of the chief inspector's wife's culinary experiments in FRENZY, it also is intriguing to learn that Alma "did all of her own cooking"!
