Robot Chicken: Star Wars (2007 TV Short)

Gotta be a Star Wars fan before to dig this one
8 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The one big condition to enjoy this short film is that you're already a Star Wars fan in advance. It mainly consists of often unrelated sequences that feature most of the characters in a more volatile, everyday-person manner with struggles known to all of us. If you've seen the Star Wars movies, at least the old ones, and not enjoyed them that much, this one won't give you lots of pleasure. You need to know the characters, their quirks, relations and mannerisms to be fully able to get the most out of this viewing experience. I watched the Star Wars trilogy a while ago, but my reason for watching this is really more being an animation enthusiast. Of course, there are certain parts which make the whole film accessible to a wider audience, like the shamelessly liberal dig at (then-)President George W. Bush who got dedicated a whole couple scenes to himself (including a re-enactment of the epic light saber battle) or the earlier sequence with George Lucas meeting a complete Star Wars geek actually making fun of the target audience playfully.

And even if you love Star Wars, there's still a possibility you won't be able to really appreciate these 25 minutes due to Green and the writers frequently reducing the action to the level of the Star wars characters throwing "your mother"-jokes at each other.
