Hi, Mr. Edwards!
22 August 2013
It's so good to see the return of Mr. Edwards. It seems the family's done well since leaving Walnut Grove about two years ago or so. Though Carl is missing from this episode, I think we can assume Mr. Edwards' bitterness over the accident that left him crippled (temporary, so it seems)sent him away. When Charles and Caroline learn how emotionally crippled Mr. Edwards is, Laura and Charles head for a visit. The reunion is bitter sweet. Mr. Edwards makes everyone more upset.

But suddenly he has a change of heart. He comes to the dinner table acting cheerful, though nobody questions the personality change that's suddenly occurred. If we thought he was cheerful before, he's double now.A Always a bad sign, but Charles and Laura take him on a hunting trip. There we learn what's really going on. Mr. Edwards wants to kill himself - put everyone out of their misery. Can Charles convince Isiah to live?

This is a good episode that helps us remember why we love Mr. Edwards so much. Though he doesn't do his laugh, we do get to hear his Ol' Dan Tucker song.
