Quartet (2012)
10/10
Heartwarming and poignant at the same time. A must-see!

Just saw it this afternoon and was overjoyed to have chosen it over another movie - currently very popular Great Gatsby.

"Quartet" is more of a theatrical work to me. Its scenes, emotional background more subtle, even despite the lot of jokes and humour that come from a few characters, especially the brilliant Billy Connolly.

Filmed on set in the wonderful British countryside, full of great music, the film has a fantastic cast and it sends out a powerful message to everyone irrespective of age: we shall all get old one day, the fleeting moments of our lives are to be cherished because it will all be gone one day...It made me feel tearful a few times throughout it and I'm sure others in the auditorium felt the same.

Watch it, sing along with the characters and reflect on how great our lives can be when we care about each other.
