My Sweet Orange Tree. Wonderful Brazilian movie!
28 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This was a great experience! Brazilian writer José Mauro de Vasconcelos that wrote the 1968 classic is treated with respect and earns a beautiful and thoughtful experience in film. One of the greatest Brazilian movies that I ever saw. Worth checking out!

Zezé is a poor kid who lives in Minas Gerais and have an unemployed father, a senseless mother, two brothers and a sister who's the only one that actually cares for him.

He finds meaning and the ability to dream in the orange tree of the title and another character, Manuel (Portuga), who's the person who makes Zezé finds the father figure that his real father lacks, meaning friendship, caring and tenderness.

This is not just a movie, it's an experience that makes the audience thinks about life and family and friendship values. I'll not spoil the experience to anyone, as it's much better on screen than me telling you what to think or feel. If you want to escape a little while from the Hollywood blockbusterish machine to have a more heartfelt experience that has real meaning and a brilliant and touching storytelling, go check it right now.
