Aamir is back
2 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Aamir Khan is an icon, when other stars are making films left right and center, Aamir takes his own time and works as per his own instinct. Talaash has been in the news ever since it's inception, It's Aamir's first big release after the blockbuster 3 Idiots. The film had to release in March,April but was delayed for some reason for November release, Many people claimed it was due to similarity with Kahaani which is far from true. The film is a suspense drama, and one has to watch minutely, since the beginning as you may miss a vital link, though the drama does get sluggish at places, yet one awaits to see how the subject will unveil. The scenes between Aamir and Rani, Aamir and Kareena are well handled, even the subplots of Nawzuddin is terrifically interwoven. The film keeps you involved throughout. The songs don't act as speedbreakers but mostly play in the background, The supernatural aspect does irritate at places, but in the end you will realise the importance. The end is half baked and doesn't convince properly.

Direction by Reema Kagti is superb Dialogues by Farhan Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap are superb Music is decent, the best song is Hona hai Kya. Action(very limited) is okay The film also pays a sort of tribute to Shaan(1980) where a crippled guy runs how Mazhar Khan did in that film. There are several posters and songs of 80s and 90s films playing in the background.

Aamir Khan as usual does a fantastic job, playing the tough disturbed cop with brilliance, his emotional scenes, his body language, dialogue delivery everything is superb, He played a cop earlier in Baazi and Sarfarosh but this time he adds something new to it. Rani Mukherjee is back after a long time, she redeems herself after the disastrous Aiyaa and does a superb job in a serious demanding role. Kareena Kapoor is fantastic, though she does look too chic for the role of a callgirl but yet she portrays all emotions perfectly. Nawzuddin Siddiqui is the find of the year, he again bows you over with a performance that is topnotch. Shernaz Patel is superb, Rajkumar Yadav is superb too, rest are all okay There are many TV faces in the film and there are decent
