A face from the past
28 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
With Jack's transponder either broken or damaged the team at CTU is desperately trying to find a way to locate him; this is setback slightly when it appears that Tony has been making mistakes; individually nothing serious but when taken in total Michelle is concerned enough to tell Chappelle that she doesn't think Tony is up to doing the job. Meanwhile in Mexico Jack and the Ramon brothers go to meet the people overseeing the sale of the virus; when they get there they are in for a surprise. There is a second bidder; if they are to acquire the virus they must bid again and hope their sealed bid is greater than the other prospective buyer.

After the problems with Anne were sorted out it looked as if the president's re-election campaign was back on track; then he received a call from his old friend and prominent financial backer Alan Milliken. He wants the president to sack his brother Wayne because he has just learnt that he had an affair with his wife some time ago. Wayne offers to resign as he knows Alan will play dirty but once again the president shows that he won't respond to blackmail.

This was another tense episode with a great surprise when we learn who the other buyer's representative is... or it would have been if her face hadn't been plastered over the DVD menu! The scenes back at CTU were interesting enough and contained a nice little twist at the end. The president's political problems are fairly insignificant to the story at the moment but I can see them escalating as the series progresses; the writers clearly created the problems for a reason greater than interfering with an election campaign.
