Billa 2 Movie Review!

One the most awaited movie of the year Billa 2 released globally with record number of prints. Will it satisfy our expectations…read on to know more

First of all Billa 2 is a Don movie, so if we say there is no comedy or sentiments in it we must be joking coz we should expect what we should expect from a Don movie. And the movie delivers it with loads of action. Kudos to the director Chakri Toleti for not succumbing to the stereotype masala path and delivering a honest movie without much of deviations.

The story is simple, how David Billa becomes Don, because of situations and people around him. Digging the story further is not of much use since the movie does not rely on story.

With not much experience in the cast Ajith carries the movie single handedly with ease and will make you sit and watch the entire movie without giving us any dull moments. He is fantastic in action sequences and his screen presence ensures you don't need many other reasons to go and watch the movie. His risks in stunt scenes are worth mentioning and yet again he proved that he is dedicated and takes any level of risk to satisfy his audience. His fan base in abroad is sure to get a good increase coz of his portrayal as a refugee.

Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah does not have much scope to perform but they help a lot in adding to the glamour portion of the movie, as expected from a Don movie heroines. One might feel that they would have utilized well. Other actors are sufficiently done their job with a special mention to Elavarasu. Both the main villains Sudanshu Pandey and Vidyut Jammanwal are promising and done a neat job. Era Murugan dialogues are short but creates a good impact with the audience. One would expect action movies should have long and loud punch dialogues, but because of Billa 2'S slick nature dialogues cope up well and packs a punch.

Technically the movie is excellent thanks to great camera work RD Rajasekhar and good music by Yuvan. Until the last half an hour we might feel that Yuvan did not live up to the expectations on BGM, but he delivers well in the end, especially the momnet when the BGM merges to Billa 1 theme was fantastic and the audience went crazy.Songs are good and picturized well. That Georgian song is nice to listen. Gangster song comes only at the end bloopers which a slight disappointment considering the popularity it gained prior to the release of the movie but the other way you would think that is a perfect song for end bloopers.

Box Office Prospects:

Movie is sold at slightly less than 30 crores which is very reasonable and is safe enough for the distributors to laugh their way to bank despite the A rating of the movie. Movie will easily manage to collect 60 - 70 crores in 10 days as predicted by Aascar Ravichandran.

Overall Verdict:

Action movie lovers and Thala fans will lap it up. The violent scenes may keep the female audience bit away but not much sexually explicit scenes as told by rumors, you can watch it with family if you can digest the blood and gore during action scenes. Just go for it to see a Tamil movie focusing only on subject rather than mixing up mindless comedies and needless dialogues.

A neat spicy action briyani from the team.

Billa 2 is a clear winner
