Baywatch: Lover's Cove (1993)
Season 4, Episode 3
10/10
Better than "Rescue Bay" and the following seasons (dvd) (vhs)

The quality of the third season is maintained in this fourth. The reason is that the cool cast and the humanist and extravagant stories are still here.

The idea of this show being a hollow one, that tries to lure audience with babes in swimsuit isn't true. On the contrary, it's the only show I know that teaches tolerance for difference with freaks, mentally disabled children, old people. That's why the ending song is totally iconic: it's really about reaching out and taking a helping hand. Up to this four seasons, the key to "Baywatch" was really that they extend the values of lifeguards outside the beach.

Another delusion is that it was Pam the star. Just take a look at Nicole Eggert and especially Alexandra Paul and you will find outstanding actress as well.

My pick this year is 4.03 "lover's cove" because it's a really moving teen love between Hobie and an excellent young actress. In addition, the featured song 'River of time" really sticks to the story.

But there are a lot of other episodes that worth mention: "race against time", "tentacles", "submersion", "ironman buchannon", "child inside", "blinside", "coronado", "facon manifesto", "life you save". Sure, they may have reached a top as well because they begin to recycle stories: past villain or girlfriends come back and they even spoof movies: "Mirror, Mirror" is an unbelievable mix between "Jaws" and "Misery".

If everything was cool so far, they suddenly lost their luck and creativity starting with the next season and the coming of awful characters (Logan, Caroline, ...)
