In tribute to the late Richard Dawson, I decided to view "Family Feud: Three's Company vs. Love Boat" on YouTube
4 June 2012
Richard Dawson died a couple of days ago so I decided to honor him by watching some of his "Family Feud" eps on YouTube. This was the last part of an All-Star primetime special in which the winners from the first round-"The Love Boat" (Gavin MacLeod, Fred Grandy, Lauren Tewes, Ted Lange, Bernie Kopell)-went against the winners of the second round-"Three's Company" (John Ritter, Audra Lindley, Joyce DeWitt, Richard Kline, Norman Fell). The only survey question asked was: "Name an occupation on Sunday" which had 10 answers on the board. "The Love Boat" cast correctly guessed about 4 or 5 answers before their three strikes leaving "Three's Company" for the steal which they did. So that got Kline and Fell on Fast Money. Kline gave very good answers so it seemed a cinch for Fell to get to 200 points but his first two replies to these questions-"Besides G, name a movie rating" "PR" (really, Norman?!), "Name an important American city" "Cleveland"-got him 0 points each. But when his last answer was revealed, he indeed got past the required number of points which got Ritter to kiss Ms. Lindley when the victory music was played. Anyway, loved seeing this segment but I would have really loved to see the whole hour-long special it was a part of. Maybe one day I'll get the DVD set of these "All-Star Family Feud" specials. This will probably be it on my Richard Dawson tribute reviews. Until then...
