As a true serious classic film I love Heinz Ruhmann Comedies and this one is funny. It stars Louis Graveure,A famous British opera singer, who did a few films, who would eventually would live in the united states ,San Francisco, C.A. He doesn't seem to have any British accent noticeable. He sing his signature song in this film,"Tausend rote Rosen Bluh. But it's Hienz Ruhmann the star,Theo Ligens second.Heinzy plays a composer Benjamin, who writes song for Antonio the opera singer. But Tony is called by a small European place Palamo, for he is the Heir to the throne. But the princess of the country ,Stephanie, played by Camillia Horne, wants to control the country with her lady in waiting played by or sister Manja.played by Maria Sazarina. Then you have Austrian character actress like Adele Sandrock an Fritz Odmar and you got an entertaining piece of Viennese Strudel.Nothing much happens but there a lot of humor from Heinz Ruhmann.Like a funny sequence when Hienz Ruhmann is eating at a party and he put too much paprika on the food and he burns his mouth and his interest in Manja leads to them greeting trapped in a basement of the castle,as he looks for inspiration for his now song for Antonio.Leo , who plays the impresario, becomes desperate that Antonio is gone. He isn't aware is that he was a regent.Through funny situation he lands at the castle. In the end even the princess gets fed up with controlling the country and she and Manja go back with Heinzy and Tony and they live happily ever after, at least until the annexation.Good comedy. 04/23/12
