Just Can't Fight That Fring-ing Anymore...
12 February 2012
I just love REO SpeadDealer, er, Wagon.

Here we meet the ultimate Geek: Joseph Meegar (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) - Interesting name, I've traced "Meegar" as either a cat-like Alien Species, or, a Rapper produced by SAN. Sounds pretty Meegar to me! Meegar is your typical Geek - He wants to ask a woman, "Bethany" (Diane Davis) out on a date, but he's too chicken. I know ALL about that. To boost his confidence, Meegar responds to an Ad in a Magazine offering to help him "Unlock his Hidden Potential". But his visits to this clinic empower him with more of an Electric Personality than he had hoped for.

This is the first time we meet another Cortexiphan Kid. We don't know this yet, as in the Fringe TimeLine, Cortexiphan had not been introduced into the story. But it is the first time, we hear the phrase "You were made Special" - Joseph was made "Special" by Dr Jacob Fischer (Max Baker) and his visit to Jacob's Clinic DID unlock some hidden potential.

But Meegar is hurting people around him, people he cares about. He does not want to, but he cannot control the "Potential" he was given.

In the race to find Meegar, Jacobs finds him first, but even Jacobs didn't know what he had unleashed- But he finds out, if it's the last thing he ever does.

Olivia as well has had some inner potential unlocked, and we get to see the after-effects of her visit into Walter's Sensory Deprivation Tank first-Hand.

All in All, a fairly "Shocking" Fringe Ep- Worth buying the DVD or Blu Ray set just to revisit.
