Tim Minchin: Ready for This?
25 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I first saw the Australian comedian on The Secret Policeman's Ball 2008, and then I saw his debut solo stand up and singing show, I was looking forward to another one. Comedian, and musician, Tim Minchin here plays to a big audience at the Edinburgh Fringe theatre with his great comedy songs, and a little bit of observational comedy. I will be honest in saying that I don't remember the subjects he talks about in the stand up breaks from the music, apart from maybe his wife, inappropriate things to say in situations and his thoughts on the past, the songs did seem more frequent, that is the only reason this isn't quite as good as the previous show. However, for the songs it is great fun, featuring include the title song, "Prejudice", "I Love Jesus", "The Good Book", "If I Didn't Have You" (the song I first ever saw him on TV with, at the Secret Policeman's Ball 2006), "Dark Side" and many more. Tim Minchin was number 81 on The 100 Greatest Stand-Ups 2010. Worth watching!
