The Muse is a very enjoyable psychological ghost horror story with a nice sense of atmosphere and dread, some very grim humor, a rather twisted premise and a couple serious shock moments.
I tend to like horror that is less gory and explicit and this film accomplishes that and yet still creates some very gruesome moments not for the squeamish.
There is some nice understated acting moments, a very good use of lighting and camera work to create a sense of horror and anticipation of dread. Also some good camera shot choices and editing to create horrific moments and images.
