Some of the highlights for me were the touching acting abilities of the children, the humor brought to life by the soccer player and the subtle story line. The array of characters that were brought to this plot were colorful and at time a bit hard to imagine being accepted by this small midwestern town, for example the drag queen. I thought that the widow's inner life and the realities of having married a bi man would have been interesting to see developed more fully. She came across to me as somewhat one dimensional at times and yet it could have been her grief that gave her the impression of having been "shut down" emotionally. I thought that the coach brought a great deal of sexual interest to the story as did the deceased father.
