More than a Modest Suggestion
28 February 2011
I enjoyed this film very much. It largely takes place within the confines of one room, but the masterful cinematography and rich, witty dialog keeps the audience engaged throughout. The characters are memorable and the manner in which they reveal their modest suggestion, step by step, provides an excellent insight into the subject matter. Approaching the topic of bigotry and racism from the confines of a boardroom enables the film to methodically and systematically detail the motivations, fears, and misconceptions harbored in ignorance and insecurity. The film is funny, but at the end of the day deathly serious. The images and ideas will stick with you long after the final credits have rolled.
