It's time to see the truth
12 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is one of the very few films that shows us the truth about the Spaniard invasion of the Aztecs. Without taking any sides, it shows us how hard it was for the Aztecs to give up their values and become "civilized" from the Spaniard's point of view. Knowing that many of the characters and events were exactly as they happened in history, Salvador Carrasco does a very good job in blending true characters and events with fictitious ones. Also, by using the actual dialogues and actions of the real characters which many of them have been glorified by our history books, We start questioning these people and even what our books are telling us. Given this, we also understand that these cultures didn't understand anything about each other and never tried to do so.
