Taqdeerwala (1995)
A C-grade Movie With Some Funny Moments Thanks To Raveena Tandon and Kader Khan
30 May 2010
Made in typical C-grade style, K. Muralimohana Rao's 'Taqdeerwala' is a typical campy comedy. The length may exceed over 2.5 hours but much of it is very funny especially the sequences of Kader Khan and Raveena Tandon (which, unfortunately, aren't that many). The action sequences and dramatic sequences (especially all the crap Suraj does to buy the palace). The special effects are laughably bad. Most of the dialogues in the comedic scenes are hilarious while the rest is boring cliché. The songs are okay at best. 'Mera Dil Deewana' is a foot-tapping number visualized on the beautiful Raveena Tandon while the other songs are forgettable. Venkatesh is annoying as the naive Suraj. I get that he's supposed to be naive but why does he have to act like a kid in every single scene? As the angels of death, Kader Khan and Asrani are a riot. Raveena Tandon is hilarious and provides some of the best laugh-out-loud moments of the movie. Her Lily is one of the funniest film characters. It's a pity that she has a small role. Reema Lagoo plays the typical Maa in distress. To sum it up, 'Taqdeerwala' is a bad movie with some fun moments.
