Lucas goes to court
9 March 2009
A man is killed and Lucas McCain is a witness (and almost a victim) so it is his testimony that could send the man to the hangman's noose. BUT the family of the accused Hazelit (including character actor stalwart of countless westerns, Denver Pyle and "Jaws" actor Richard Kiel) will hear nothing of it, so they set out to "convince" Lucas to lie on the stand. A great sample of a tough Sam Peckinpah western classic series that will not disappoint fans of the show or of westerns.

I have fond memories of the Rifleman in its original run. I used to joke about how Lucas could kill or beat up anyone can get a free pass because after all, Lucas McCain was a "good man." Plus having a young son to raise by himself made him sympathetic all the more. on top of his being a man's man. Too bad Chuck Connors got so careless in his later years when it came to taking care of himself. He grew into a raw looking individual rather than the handsome rock-jawed star of a TV show. That, however, made him into a great villain for loads of shows including a mobster on TV's Spenser For Hire.
