I saw a little of this on the documentary The Sci-Fi Boys, and from what was shown was pretty entertaining. What Jackson did for stop-motion creatures was impressive, and his editing of mixing live-action with the stop-motion made for a nice big smile on my face.
The story is mainly about a cyclops and the misadventures of a boy, that takes place in the valley to which the monster lives.
If this is ever released on a DVD with one of Jackson's other features, it's well worth the time to watch.
To see the clip shown in The Sci-Fi Boys, it usually airs once and a while on the Sci-Fi Channel or can be purchased online.
