Warning: Spoilers
I first saw this film when I was about ten years old. It was shown as a B-movie to the then recently released 'The Boyfriend' starring the model Twiggy. The film left such an impression on me I even remember the venue (Odeon Notting Hill Gate, London). As a child, any subtle undertones of comedy went unnoticed. What I do recall however, was the beauty of the landscape and the haunting tragedy of a misguided John Mills wrongly believing his beloved Dulcima had accepted the hand of another's. To his day I know the impression the film left upon me was not simply the narrative. I have always remembered the names of the better known actors and can vividly re-enact certain scenes in my mind. I would so love to see this film again and enjoy through older eyes what I think must have been a wonderful and very underrated film. If anyone out there knows how or where to get a copy...............?
