What initially might appear to be another girl in a cage retread, is actually quite original and entertaining. I enjoyed the whacked "collector" being pursued by an unstable admirer. The character development is good, and Asia Argento is believable as the crafty, caged dancer. Some of the dialog is way above average, and the mind games between captor and captive intriguing. Throw in a demented puppet show, some sudden violence, and an exciting conclusion. If you find "The Keeper" in the cheap bin at the video store, don't hesitate to grab it. It will exceed your expectations, unlike a lot of big budget duds, Hollywood is spewing out these days. - MERK
